I found it dorky and lacking in self awareness. All I know was that I didn’t enjoy watching Girltrash. It is possible this is just because I’m a joyless buzzkill with incorrect assumptions of what the movie would be. Much as it gets full points for the amount of queer lady content (every lead character is a queer woman), I still can’t say it’s good. Girltrash: All Night Long is a lighthearted musical comedy with exactly no edge that didn’t make me laugh once. She’s a two-dimensional character whose character traits are mostly basic stereotypes. Her name is Monique Shaniqua Jones and she is a criminal with anger issues who spends the movie terrorizing nice, white ladies. Daisy and Tyler are two hapless rockers trying to make it to a Battle of the Bands on time. And then everything she does is a bit of a black stereotype. In the tradition of Go and Superbad, GIRLTRASH: All Night Long is the story of five girls and one epic night. To start with, she’s basically the only black person in this universe. I also have concerns about the way Girltrash portrays its singular black character, Monique. Girltrash: All Night Long is on Netflix Heres your chance to see this wonderful film Girltrash: All Night Long is a musical lesbian romantic comedy that. Until Tyler gets Monique this money, Monique’s gonna make Tyler’s life difficult and miserable at any opportunity. The final obstacle between the characters and their show is a criminal named Monique who Tyler owes money. Daisy also has relationship drama in the form of an ex she’s still in love with. Unfortunately, Misty has a crush on Tyler despite Tyler’s attempts to drive her towards Colby. Colby is in the process of coming out as gay and has a crush on a girl named Misty. However, their journey towards this gig is interrupted by various events. Tyler and Daisy have just got a spot in a battle of the bands competition. Capitalizing on stereotypes, it is a wittily composed storyline that is sure to keep one laughing until the endthink Empire Records meets The L. It follows one night in the life of musicians Tyler and Daisy. Reminiscent of 1990’s teen romantic comedies, Girltrash: All Night Long takes the audience through a rock-filled, love-spelled, adventure-packed, lesbian evening in Los Angeles, California. The film is a prequel to a webseries I have not seen. Sadly, being the joyless husk of a woman that I am, I took no joy in the film. And based on what I knew about the movie, I thought I’d enjoy it. I’d heard some positive reviews and had it recommended by a few people. I was excited for Girltrash: All Night Long.
